Jennifer Hunt is a shareholder with Hill & Robbins, P.C., where her practice emphasizes both complex commercial litigation and water and natural-resources law. Ms. Hunt received a B.A., with honors, in English, summa cum laude, from the Ohio State University in 1992, and her J.D. from the University of Colorado School of Law in 1998, where she served on the editorial staff of the University of Colorado Law Review. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
Ms. Hunt has been in private practice with Hill & Robbins since her graduation from law school. Her practice focuses primarily on complex civil litigation, as well as water and natural resources law and the representation of special districts. In her litigation practice, Ms. Hunt has assisted in representing both large and small corporations in contract disputes; a plaintiff seeking to enforce a lease guarantee involving challenges to offshore trusts; nationwide classes of plaintiffs in securities-fraud and consumer-fraud litigation; both plaintiffs and defendants in antitrust litigation; and businesses with complex business tort claims. In her water practice, Ms. Hunt has represented both individual water users and government entities in water-rights adjudications. In addition, she provides advice and representation to several special districts, water conservation districts, and municipalities both as general counsel and as special counsel for a variety of issues, including water related litigation, Open Records Act compliance, and land use.
Ms. Hunt is a board member and serves on the Executive Committee of the Colorado Lawyers' Committee, a statewide legal pro bono organization dedicated to social systemic problems, and participates on several of the group's task forces. She is also active in the Colorado Women's Bar Association, where she has served on the Public Policy Committee and as a board member. Ms. Hunt also participates as a pro bono advocate in the Permanent Restraining Order Project run by the Women's Bar Association and Project Safeguard and in the Judicial Bypass Program run by Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains. Ms. Hunt is a member of the American, Colorado, and Denver Bar Associations.
